Are you a beginner? Not yet prepared to venture off-piste? After this one day compact course, you will be able to contribute to the planning and the preparation of  off-piste tours. In this course, you learn basics of rescue skills in the event of an avalanche.

Contents and objectives of course
• To know some rules of approximate evaluation of the danger of avalanche (Munter method, method of elementary reduction , etc)
• To include/understand the significance of the avalanche report and the declivity
• To know the adequate behavior to reduce the risk of avalanches
• Knowledge of the safety material and the rescue with the avalanche victim detector in the event of accident

The objective of this course is to learn how to adapt your behavior when skiing off-piste, thus avoiding common errors. After this course, you will have a good base knowledge of avalanches and off-piste safety.

Requirements

No preliminary avalanche knowledge required. Some basic knowledge in ski touring, snowboard or snowshoeing is suggested. Minimum age is 16 years old. You should have already participated in ski tours or free-ride tours and have your own material.

Price includes: Training from an IFMGA certified mountain guide and instruction documents. Avalanche equipment can be rented at our office for Fr. 10.- (backpack, avalanche victim detecting device, avalanche shovel, avalanche probe).
